About the Founder
Timothy Payment is the founder of L2R Consulting Group and works at the intersection of leadership responsibility, judgment, and ethical decision‑making. His focus is on how leaders make choices under constraint—particularly once technical training, credentials, and formal authority are no longer sufficient.
Tim’s background spans military service, higher education, and organizational leadership development. Across these settings, he observed a persistent gap: capable individuals were routinely promoted and entrusted with responsibility without being adequately prepared to examine tradeoffs, accept consequence, or lead amid ambiguity.
Through L2R Consulting Group and the Lead With Intention initiative, Tim designs leadership development experiences that intentionally avoid skills workshops, personality models, and motivational framing. Instead, the work treats leadership as a practiced responsibility—developed through disciplined reflection, exposure to consequence, and clarity about what one is willing to own.
His work serves organizations and institutions where leadership decisions carry real impact and where seriousness, not performance, is required.
